Bishopric of Malaga removes priest accused of harassment

The resolution was taken after it became known that the priest of Venezuelan origin had been called to testify by the National Police to respond for an alleged breach of a restraining order regarding a woman.

The Bishopric denied through a statement that the priest had been detained for this circumstance, as had been published by various media, and explained that it was aware of a complaint between the priest and the woman for harassment.

However, the Bishopric assures that it was unaware that a restraining order was imposed on the priest. At the same time, the statement stated that the priest’s lawyer admits that the priest and the woman “lived together for a time in the parish house with other compatriots, although they were not a couple.”
