The ex-king wins against his former love.

Spain’s former king Juan Carlos (85, abdicated in 2014) was able to prevent a million-dollar lawsuit against his ex-affair Corinna Princess zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn (59) at the High Court in London. The German, who had an affair with Juan Carlos until 2009, had sought to go to court because of persistent harassment and threats, among other things.

The British judges saw it differently: rejected!

The princess told BILD: “I am deeply disappointed. It is disheartening to see that victims of harassment often struggle to find justice in our legal system.”

And further: “The intimidation and harassment of me and my children continues and is aimed at making me completely break down. Juan Carlos has used his entire arsenal to take me down, and the reach of his power is immense. I’m thinking about all options.”

The businesswoman, who lives in England, had demanded compensation of more than 126 million pounds (a good 145 million euros) from the ex-monarch for coercion and harassment.

In a statement, Juan Carlos said he welcomed the judge’s decision, according to the Daily Mail.

After their affair ended, Juan Carlos is said to have spied on and harassed her and demanded back gifts totaling 65 million euros. The former king categorically rejected the allegations.

The responsible High Court judge Collins Rice now explained in her judgment why the English judiciary had no jurisdiction over the lawsuit against “a defendant living abroad”. The plaintiff did not sufficiently prove that the harassment she described “took place in England”.

The spokeswoman also told BILD that the princess had the right to object. It is still unclear whether she will take action against the verdict.

Juan Carlos was the head of state of Spain from 1975 until his abdication in June 2014. Since then, he has been caught up in numerous scandals – including questionable cash gifts worth millions from Saudi Arabia and allegations of money laundering, in which his ex-lover is also said to have been involved. Both deny the allegations.
