The Port Authority of Cartagena (Spain) will be visited by 22 cruise ships during the month of October, representing the arrival of approximately 26,000 passengers. This month will stand out for including three triple and three double calls, making it the second best month of the year for the port.

Recently, two cruise ships, the ‘Silver Nova’ and the ‘Scenic Eclipse’, docked in the port of Cartagena on a double stopover, transporting more than 900 passengers in total. The ‘Silver Nova’, operated by Silversea, is known to be one of the most innovative luxury ships, as she uses hydrogen fuel cell technology, batteries and hybrid fuel engines with LNG as the main energy source.

On the other hand, the ‘Scenic Eclipse’ cruise ship from Scenic Cruises arrived from Ibiza and will continue its journey to Malaga. Additionally, more double calls are expected during the month, including Gran Circle Cruise Line’s ‘Corinthian’ and Compagnie du Ponant’s ‘Le Lyrial’.

The Carthaginian enclave also has a triple stopover scheduled for October 12, with the arrival of approximately 8,000 tourists aboard the cruise ships ‘Britannia’ from P&O Cruises, ‘Marella Voyager’ from Marella Cruises and ‘Viking Venus’ from Viking Ocean Cruises . In fact, the first visit of the TUI cruise ship ‘Mein Schiff 4’ is expected on October 11.

Projections for the last quarter of 2023 indicate that the Port of Cartagena will receive more than 63,000 tourists aboard 52 cruise ships, while the year is expected to close with a total of 150 stops and more than 180,000 passengers.

On the other hand, the Port of Cartagena has recently granted Electronic Supplies, Imports and Maintenance the implementation of a new model of information and communication technology services.
