With the support of CMA CGM, the manufacturers will develop a range of electric vans adapted to urban logistics.

Renault has found the partners with whom it will give birth to the van of the future. At the end of 2022, Luca de Meo, its general director, had already spoken about this project during the group’s “capital market day”. He even gave a name to this new concept of electric vans – FlexEVan – and suggested the company’s name, Flexis.

Le Losange will therefore join forces with the Volvo group to create an equal joint venture. Everyone will invest 300 million euros in this “start-up” which will not be part of the Renault group. For its part, the CMA CGM group – a major player in logistics – has signed a non-binding letter of intent to invest 120 million euros via its Pulse fund, dedicated to energy.

These future vans will be dedicated to urban mobility, a booming market which must now integrate the constraint of CO2 emissions. They are expected in 2026. They will be produced on “a new fully electric light utility vehicle platform…
