“Brock Purdy’s Decision-Making Impresses 49ers’ Run Game Coordinator”
SANTA CLARA — The exceptional decision-making skills of second-year quarterback Brock Purdy have caught the attention of San Francisco 49ers’ run game coordinator Chris Foerster. Foerster explains, “Being able to make decisions and deliver the ball accurately is just something that he’s learned to do over time… It is remarkable because some guys never learn it. Some guys are always late to throw the ball. They’re just going to rely more on arm talent.”
One of Purdy’s standout performances occurred in Week 2 against the New York Giants, where he faced an 85-percent blitz rate. The young quarterback had to make split-second decisions, showcasing his ability to adjust to challenging circumstances.
Purdy’s overall statistics for the 2023 season are impressive, with a 72.3-percent completion rate and a 115.1 rating across four games. Throughout his career, he has maintained a 69.1-percent completion rate and a 110.4 rating over 13 regular-season contests.
