HP Unveils Envy Move: A Portable All-in-One PC with Integrated Battery

HP has introduced its latest innovation in the all-in-one PC category with the Envy Move. This unique device comes with a built-in handle and an integrated rechargeable 83 Wh battery, making it portable and convenient for on-the-go use.

Measuring only 9.04 pounds and with dimensions of 21.74×5.85×14.43 inches, the Envy Move is compact and lightweight. According to Jo Tan, senior vice president and division president of Personal Systems Consumer Solutions at HP Inc., it is the “world’s only” all-in-one PC with an integrated battery.

The Envy Move also features a built-in stand that uses two HP patents, allowing it to work on any flat surface. In videos shared by HP, the device’s legs can be seen flipping out to provide stability once placed on a surface.

One notable feature of the Envy Move is its battery life. HP claims that the battery can last up to four hours, based on various battery tests. These tests include MobileMark25’s test, streaming Netflix using Wi-Fi and Edge, and playing 1080p local video full-screen with max audio and Wi-Fi enabled.

To optimize battery life, the Envy Move is equipped with a U-series processor, specifically the Intel Core i5-1335U. While it may not have the most powerful specifications, it is marketed as a versatile and family-friendly device. Other specifications include up to 16GB of LPDDR5-4800 memory and 1TB of PCIe 4.0 storage.

The Envy Move features a 23.8-inch 2560×1440 IPS touch screen with up to 300 nits of brightness and 99 percent sRGB coverage. It also includes a 5 MP infrared camera with temporal noise reduction and integrated dual microphones.

In terms of port selection, the Envy Move offers one USB-A port, one USB-C port with DisplayPort 1.4a, and HDMI 1.4b.

While all-in-one PCs may be a niche category in the tech world, the Envy Move brings a new level of portability and convenience. With its integrated battery and compact design, it offers a fresh take on portable big-screen computing.

HP has launched the Envy Move with a starting price of $900.
