Is masculinity something in crisis? For the leader of the Vintage Church, in Rio Grande do Sul, the answer is yes, and this should be understood not as a stereotype, but rather as qualities typical of “males”, something that, according to the religious man, has been neglected in the world current.

Through social networks, Pastor Jack listed what in his opinion is characteristic of males, or at least should be, pointing out characteristics such as protection, abdication, resilience (emotional strength) and others.

“Males sacrifice themselves. Males take responsibility Males protect! Males donate! Males love and care for women and children”, began the pastor, who was recently the target of attacks for preaching linking other religions to the worship of demons.

“Males don’t run away! Males stay and face the storm! Males die protecting females. Males don’t cheat. Males wage a violent struggle against their sins,” continued Jack.

Masculinity in check

The pastor of the Vintage Church is not the only one who has drawn attention to the issue of masculinity in crisis in the current generation. Endorsing his words, religious leader Geremias Couto said he literally agreed with the list of characteristics of what it means to be male.

It is also interesting to note that the Bible outlines what male attitudes should be in society, indicating that, in fact, masculinity has nothing to do with stereotypes – such as having a long beard, a fad these days – but rather with qualities of life, many of which are listed by Pastor Jack.

“Therefore, a bishop must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, serious, honest, hospitable, able to teach; Not given to wine, not a striker, not greedy for filthy lucre, but temperate, not contentious, not covetous; Let him rule his own house well, having his children in subjection, with all modesty,” says the text of 1 Timothy 3:2-7. check out:
