CNN Exclusive: Videos Show Hamas Killing Civilians Near Gaza Border

by time news

At least four civilians were killed by Hamas militants near the Gaza border, according to videos obtained and analyzed by CNN. The footage shows armed fighters escorting the civilians before their bodies are seen on the ground. Another video previously geolocated by CNN showed five Israeli civilians being taken captive by militants in the same area. A CNN analysis confirmed that the bodies and civilians in the videos had matching clothes and hairstyles. The fate of the fifth hostage remains unclear. Be’eri, a town located only three miles from the Gaza border, was among the first to be targeted by Hamas fighters during their coordinated attack. Israeli Defense Forces spokesperson Lt. Col. Richard Hecht stated that most of the militants in Be’eri had been killed, but efforts were still being made to clear the area of any remaining fighters. The attack by Hamas has already resulted in over 700 Israeli deaths, leading to retaliatory Israeli airstrikes and a declaration of war. More than 400 Palestinians, including 78 children, have also been killed. Hamas militants are reportedly holding more than 100 Israeli hostages, including high-ranking army officers, although their exact location and fate are unknown. Another Palestinian armed group, Islamic Jihad, claimed to be holding at least 30 hostages in Gaza. Israeli authorities have not confirmed the exact number of hostages being held but have stated that several nationalities are believed to be among them. There are concerns that Hamas fighters are still crossing into Israel from Gaza, with Israeli forces deployed in the south to secure breach points. The ongoing fight continues to pose challenges, with tanks and air cover being used in certain areas to maintain control.
