A worrying calm reigns in Menahem-Begin Street, in Sderot. In the growing twilight, the silence is only broken by Israeli bombings on the very close Gaza Strip: the army has just launched Operation “Iron Sword”. The last bodies have only just been removed from the streets of Sderot but everything bears traces of the assassinations committed by Hamas terrorists during the day. On the road, cars are abandoned here and there, broken up. A white van ended up hitting a sidewalk. At the foot of the door, a few coins and a bunch of keys are bathed in blood and shards of glass. Further on, a bus is always stopped in front of its station.
A massacre has been committed: the windows of the vehicle have been shattered, the ground is darkened by streams of blood. Stretchers are abandoned on the ground, flies congregate on their blackened fabric. Reddened clothes lie scattered among the burnt plastic and debris…
