Like this, there are many stories of marvelous deeds and miracles worked by this holy man. One of these usually appears in his iconography. It is said that an encomendero wanted to kill him with his harquebus, but as soon as he fired the weapon it turned into a crucifix in his hands, and San Luis remained unharmed, in front of him, looking at him with benevolence.
Apostle of two worlds
In 1569, Saint Luis Beltrán returned to Valencia to be master of novices, just as he had been many years before. There he would dedicate himself to the training of future missionaries who would come to America. Fray Luis, in his last years, suffered various illnesses and ailments, but even in that state he always maintained the apostolic spirit.
