Kostas Kapsalis, who is the longest-serving mayor in Epirus, and probably in the whole of Greece, will serve his 8th term in the Municipality of Pogoni.
In fact, Mr. Kapsalis was re-elected with a percentage of close to 78%, leaving his former partner and head of the faction “Pogoni Topos nach zeis” Christos Gogo far behind, at around 16%. The third faction of the new municipal council will be the “People’s Rally of Pogoni”, headed by Dimitris Rosilovalis. Of course, it is worth noting the low turnout in the Municipality of Pogoni, which reached only 39.52%. “Today, Pogoni won again, the citizens and our Municipality won again. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for renewing your trust with the extremely high rate you have given to the Pogoni United Initiative. “Today the citizens decided on the future of Pogoni, giving us the opportunity to continue the development path we have charted all these years”, notes Mr. Kapsalis in his statement, thanking all those who participated in the election process and inviting them, regardless by their choice and preference, to move forward together on the road of the future. “The new challenges of the era require coordinated movements, dynamic claims, experience and knowledge. But above all, they require cooperation and like-mindedness for the good of Pogoni. No one is spared in this fight. All together, united in a common goal, we must contribute to addressing the problems of our region. The mandate of victory, which was given to us, is for us a commitment of responsibility to continue our work for the completion of the vision of a municipality that is financially independent, developed in all areas, but above all a municipality that respects the citizens, offering them an upgraded quality of life and everyday life. We will continue to work at the same intense pace because time is relentless. We will continue with the same consistency and honesty because we respect our citizens. We will continue with you by our side, because this is how we have learned to manage, always with you, the citizens, as close partners. Because the United Initiative of Pogoni is you! We assure you that we will be worthy of the honor you have given us and the great victory you have given us”, he says, among other things.
