One more honor for Thierry Dusautoir. This Tuesday, World Rugby announced the upcoming induction of the former captain of the French XV into the Hall of Fame. The former third row will thus join some illustrious predecessors like Fabien Pelous, Jean-Pierre Rives, Serge Blanco and Philippe Sella. “A feared tackler and an emblematic captain of the French XV, Thierry Dusautoir is entering the World Rugby Hall of Fame,” wrote the international body.

Four other rugby legends will be inducted into the Hall of Fame at the same time as Thierry Dusautoir: New Zealander Dan Carter, Australian George Smith, Argentinian Juan Martin Hernandez and South African Bryan Habana. There will now be 166 of them in this prestigious circle of behemoths of this sport.

During his career, Thierry Dusautoir received several prestigious individual awards. In 2011, he was named the best player in the world by the IRB (International Rugby Board). With the French team, he played 80 matches and won the 2010 Six Nations Tournament by achieving the Grand Slam. He also reached the World Cup final in 2011, losing to New Zealand. Dan Carter, also introduced during this year 2023, was also in the opposite camp, even if he was injured in the first matches of the competition.
