BENI – The Armed Forces of the DRC succeeded in neutralizing six rebels from the Democratic and Allied Forces (ADF). It was during clashes with these terrorists on the evening of Monday October 9, 2023 in the locality of Kainana. This locality is located not far from the Kamungu forest to the northeast of National Road No. 4, precisely on the border between the province of Ituri and that of North Kivu.
During the same clashes, two AK47 type war weapons were recovered by the loyalist army.
According to the FARDC spokesperson in Operation Sokola1, during these clashes which lasted around thirty minutes, three valiant soldiers fell on the field of honor.
The command of the Sokola 1 Grand Nord operational sector urgently dispatched reinforcements of troops to pursue and destroy these terrorists who consider the civilian population as their primary target.
The situation has become relatively calm again since the morning of Tuesday October 10, 2023 in the area, adds Captain Antony Mwalushayi. He specifies that the FARDC calls on the population of Kainama, Erengheti and Luna to be calm and vigilant. This population must also denounce suspicious people in their towns as well as collaborators of these jihadists.
