A new player is launching in France in the satellite Internet access niche. The telecoms operator Orange, through its subsidiary Nordnet, will launch an offer “in November” for its French customers who cannot have access to optical fiber in particular, management announced on Wednesday.
Satellite broadband is supposed to serve isolated regions without using terrestrial infrastructure (cable or mobile networks). This service operated by Nordnet, which has 25,000 customers in mainland France, will operate thanks to a partnership concluded with the European operator Eutelsat and its new Konnect VHTS satellite.
