He Girondins of Burdeos announced this Thursday the hiring of the former Mallorcan footballer Albert Riera, 41, as coach of the team, whose only experience on the bench is in the Slovak league. Riera played for Girondins between 2003 and 2005 and, 18 years later, returned to the historic French club as coach. He was currently leading the reins of NK Celje, leader of the Slovenian championship, but an agreement was reached between the boards for him to be released from his contract and land in the French Ligue 2.
