Doctors in Minsk worked out tactics in case of detection of bubonic plague, the Republican Scientific and Practical Center of Epidemiology and Microbiology reported. The republican exercise took place on October 11.
A patient was admitted to the 10th City Clinical Hospital of Minsk following a referral from the clinic with a diagnosis of cholecystitis. He works as an international driver and returned from a business trip the day before. When hospitalized in the hospital, he had no symptoms of infectious diseases, but in the morning the man woke up with a high fever, headache and muscle pain. Doctors suspected a bubonic form of plague. This was the legend of the teaching.

Workers from the surgical department of the hospital were involved in the exercise. They also invited epidemiologists and specialists from the main health departments of regional executive committees.
This is the second exercise in Minsk in a year. And in the regions such training is carried out annually. They regularly practice actions in case of cholera, anthrax, Dengue, Lassa, Marburg, and West Nile fever.
Researchers from the Biosafety Laboratory with a collection of pathogenic microorganisms took part in the exercises from the Republican Scientific and Practical Center of Epidemiology and Microbiology. They made a report “Features of laboratory diagnosis of plague.”
