Israeli Energy Minister Israel Katz said there will be no water, electricity or fuel for Gaza until the hostages held by Hamas are released.

The statement was made on the minister’s official account on social media.

“Humanitarian aid to Gaza? No electrical switches will be turned on, no fire hydrants will be opened and no fuel trucks will enter until the kidnapped Israelis return home,” Katz posted.

During the attack on Israeli territory, on Saturday (7), Hamas terrorists kidnapped at least 150 people, according to information released by Israeli authorities.

It is believed that the terrorist organization’s objective is to exchange kidnapped people for members of the group imprisoned in Israel.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant ordered, on Monday (9), a “total siege” of the Gaza Strip.

Gallant said in a video that electricity, food, water and gas supplies would be blocked.

“We are fighting animals and we act accordingly,” Gallant added.

This Wednesday (11), the only power plant in Gaza was turned off and the energy supply was being maintained by generators, which can stop working if they run out of fuel.

The UN warned that hospitals cannot operate without electricity.
