Indians Stranded in Israel Safely Return to Tamil Nadu Amidst Israel-Palestine Conflict

In the midst of the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine, a glimmer of hope emerged for Indian citizens stranded in Israel. The Indian government, under Operation Ajay, organized a special flight to bring back the stranded Indians to their homeland. Yesterday, a group of Indian passengers arrived in New Delhi from the Ben Gurion Airport in Israel, marking a successful rescue mission.

Among the Indian nationals returning home, 14 individuals hailing from Tamil Nadu arrived in New Delhi and were promptly sent to Chennai. The Tamil Nadu government, in a commendable display of efficiency, arranged for their safe transportation to their respective hometowns by car. Two of the returnees, Palaniappan (24 years old) from Thirunagar and Neranda Gurucharan (29) from Varayur, expressed their gratitude to the Indian government and the Tamil Nadu government for their swift rescue and safe return.

Palaniappan, a research student from the Karumandapam area, shared his experiences during the conflict. He revealed that he had completed his M.Tech Biotechnology at Bharathidasan University in Trichy and had traveled to Israel in December 2022 to study cancer biology research. While there was no direct war where he resided in Israel, tensions were high due to the presence of Hamas terrorists in the north and south regions of the country.

Palaniappan further highlighted that more than 200 students from Tamil Nadu were pursuing higher education and research studies in Israel. Grateful for the accommodation provided by the Israeli government, he expressed sincere appreciation to both the Indian and Tamil Nadu governments for ensuring their safe return to India.

The successful rescue operation showcases the commitment and dedication of the Indian government in safeguarding its citizens abroad. As the conflict in Israel and Palestine continues, it is comforting to witness these heroic efforts to bring stranded Indians back home. The families and friends of the returnees in Tamil Nadu are overjoyed to have their loved ones back and are immensely grateful for the government’s intervention.

While the war between Israel and Palestine remains a cause for concern, the safe return of these Indian citizens serves as a ray of hope amidst the chaos. The government’s swift action exemplifies its dedication to protecting and assisting its citizens, even in the face of challenging circumstances.
