The choreographer and vocalist Flora Détraz offers a show centered around screams. The whole thing, sometimes painful, often incomprehensible, leaves you wondering.

We clearly understood that with Hurlula, Flora Détraz wanted to explore the cry, to flow into one sound body then another, to show that, from the archeopteryx to the rock singer, there is only one and the same rattle. several million years long. The subject is contained in one sentence, intrigues for five minutes, entertains for five more (gosh, she’s really good at acting) then spends more than an hour unraveling, which leaves plenty of time to ask yourself a lot of questions; why are its two musicians dressed in wigs which give them the look of the little girl possessed in The Ring? What is the point of this sequence during which the three speakers drink water and spit it out for a long, very long time, sometimes in a jet, sometimes in a drizzle? Was it necessary to intersperse, in the middle of the performance, ten minutes of infra-bass that would knock the enamel off your teeth (the physical pain is real)? How much longer will Lê Quan Ninh blow his cymbals? What does Flora Détraz want to tell us by spending the entire end of her show laughing, lying on the ground? At Dupieux, Yannick would have stood up to ask these questions out loud, we just mutely formulate them between two discreet snoozes, envying the less polite spectators who simply leave the room. Meanwhile, someone, a hundred meters away, is stealing our bike. In front of the very cleanly severed padlock, another kind of howl. But no one paid attention to it.
