DIG/ Without salary for… 5 years for some, the employees of the Gabonese Transport Company (Sogatra) have finally regained their rights. At least partially.

At the initiative of the Minister of Transport, Captain Loïc Moudouma Ndinga, supported by his colleague from Public Accounts (Charles Mba), some of the unpaid salaries since 2018 and 2019 have been settled. That’s 5 months to start.

A promise made by the member of the government, on September 16, 2023, to the agents who threatened to launch a new warning strike.

However, agents noted calculation errors or oversights.

The general director, Laurent Skitt Aukenguet, immediately opened a complaints office. The objective is to satisfy all agents, from administration to maintenance.

Despite an annual subsidy of 4 billion francs, Sogatra today accumulates a debt of 22 billion francs with its suppliers.

But also with the National Social Security Fund (CNSS) and the National Health Insurance and Social Guarantee Fund (Cnamgs).

The company counts 858 agents for a monthly payroll of 386 million francs.

It would have around thirty active buses.
