Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya, FGC, has opened the public voting process for the proposals of the third edition of the “Participatory Budgets” to which an investment of 687,667 euros will be allocated, both in the field of railways and tourism.

FGC will allocate 0.5 percent of its annual investment budget to the execution of the chosen proposals. The finalist projects have emerged from the proposals that were made in the consultation process that began in March and in which FGC staff participated. and the users. The actions chosen will be both those that have a positive impact on the work of the staff, and those that involve improvements in FGC’s facilities, infrastructure and services.

The voting process will remain open until October 22. The corporate initiatives will be voted on by FGC workers through an internal application, while the fifteen external proposals may be voted on by those over sixteen. After this phase, the results will be scrutinized and the winning proposals will be selected based on the votes obtained and their fit into the budget allocations allocated to each area. Later, the execution will be processed to begin in November.

In the second edition of the Participatory Budgets, thirty proposals were put to a vote with the participation of more than 450 people and twenty-two were chosen. On that occasion, it was decided to allocate 662,899 euros to actions in network stations and mountain stations. and in improvements in the Rub and Martorell operating centers, among others.

Currently, the execution of some of the projects of the second edition has been completed, such as increasing the lighting around the Martorell Central station, improving the accessibility of the path from the Sanctuary to the Hermitage of Sant Gil, in the Valley. of Nuria, or the installation of clocks at the Balaguer, Tremp and La Pobla de Segur stations.
