This Saturday morning, inscriptions painted in red caught the eyes of residents of the town of Fresnes. Swastikas but also anti-Semitic and supremacist messages discovered in several places in the town. In front of the Frédéric-Mistral high school, where one could read “White power” or “Heil Hitler” on the transparent panels which are usually used to display information for high school students.
“We have removed these inscriptions,” said the PS mayor of Fresnes Marie Chavanon this Saturday. The elected official announced that she had filed a complaint, “scandalized to see so much public provocation of discrimination and hatred based on belonging to a specific religion”.
From all political sides, elected officials say they are outraged
“I hope it will stop there because it is extremely anxiety-inducing beyond the ignominy of these registrations,” she adds, the day after the attack in a high school in Arras which cost the life of a teacher, stabbed to death, while his alleged assailant, Mohammed Mogouchkov, on S file and followed by the intelligence services, is still in police custody this Saturday.

Other registrations were made at a TVM bus stop, “Parc Médicis”. As at the Mistral high school, a swastika was painted as well as the inscription “Heil Hitler” again. This discovery caused the opposition elected official (LR – Libres!) and departmental councilor Antoine Madelin to react. “I am of course dismayed, very saddened and angry at such a manifestation of stupidity and above all, hatred, in particular anti-Semitic hatred,” he said.
Same indignation on the part of the LFI deputy for the 7th constituency of Val-de-Marne Rachel Kéké, who, regarding the registrations of the Mistral high school, wanted to provide her “total support to the educational community”. According to the editorial staff of France 3 Île-de-France, other anti-Semitic tags were discovered on the facade of a Gifi store, also in Fresnes.
