Before each of the nine Betclic Elite matches and before that of Pro B (in Pau-Orthez) which are being held this weekend, a minute of applause will be respected.

In all rooms the speaker will be invited to read a short explanatory text: “The National Basketball League and all French basketball players provide their support to the victims of extremism and violence in France and the Middle East. . In a desire for appeasement, we ask you to stand and applaud for 1 minute.” This mobilization will cover all of the matches on the 7th day of Betclic Elite and the first day of Pro B.

“Sport is a place of cohesion, with strong values such as fraternity and peace,” adds the body.

Since the dramatic events in Israel and Gaza, the world of sport has mobilized and increased its tributes. A minute of silence was thus respected before the qualifying matches for the next Euro football tournament, including that between the Netherlands and France.
