Weather Update: Mostly Sunny Today with Breezy Conditions

Washington, D.C. – After a weekend of much-needed rain, an area of low pressure is finally pushing away, bringing some relief from the wet weather. Today, residents of the nation’s capital can expect mostly sunny skies with increasing clouds later in the day. However, temperatures will remain cool, reaching highs near 60 degrees Fahrenheit.

According to Capital Weather, Sunday’s temperatures are similar to what is expected tomorrow, but with more clouds and less wind. As we head further into the week, temperatures are expected to rise, with highs approaching 70 degrees midweek.

Today’s weather conditions call for layering up, as morning winds from the northwest are predicted to gust between 25-30 mph. However, these winds are expected to ease a bit during the afternoon. The evening will bring partly cloudy skies and diminishing winds, with overnight lows in the mid- to upper 40s.

Looking ahead to Monday, more clouds than sun are anticipated, with afternoon highs in the upper 50s to near 60. A slight breeze from the northwest is expected, accompanied by some higher gusts.

Tomorrow night, the chance of an isolated shower increases during the evening and overnight. Temperatures will drop towards lows in the mid- to upper 40s.

Tuesday will see a mix of clouds and sun, with highs in the low 60s and light winds. Tuesday night will bring partly cloudy skies, with temperatures dropping into the 40s.

Wednesday is expected to be a nice day, with high pressure in control. Mostly sunny skies are anticipated, as temperatures warm closer to average, reaching highs in the mid- to upper 60s. Dry weather is expected to persist through Thursday, with highs warming to near 70.
