Israel has had a 60% drop in its economy and faces an internal, political and economic crisis; in addition to a global crisis of Zionism. Yet governments around the world continue to shake their blood-stained hands, even with military agreements.

Brazil is not against this. Unfortunately, during the first governments of Lula and Dilma, our country became the fifth largest importer of Israeli military technology. State governments follow the same tone. These are weapons tested on real human guinea pigs into which Israel turns the Palestinians every day, and which then serve to carry out the genocide of the poor and blacks and the extermination of indigenous people.

Now, upon returning to the government, Lula maintains the rhetoric of a “country friendly to the Palestinians”, which was interrupted when the genocidal Bolsonaro assumed the presidency of the Planalto, in his open and shameless Zionist ideological propaganda.

Demand for boycott

Since then, social and popular movements demand that the government listen to the Palestinians. Since 2005, when the “Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions” (BDS) movement against Israel began, these movements have demanded recognition of Zionist apartheid and the breaking of agreements, starting with an immediate military embargo.

The reference is to the international solidarity campaign that helped end apartheid in South Africa in the 1990s. But so far, ears are deaf. Traditional and pragmatic Brazilian diplomacy has resumed, since Lula assumed his third term as president, the defense of the “two-state solution.”

Since then, he has published articles condemning Israel’s attacks, but with the perspective that “both sides” must refrain from committing acts of violence and negotiate. In other words, he places a disgusting sign of equality between the oppressed and the oppressors.

An anticolonial struggle

In addition to pointing the finger at the only person responsible – the State of Israel, its brutal historical violence and current representation, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and company – it is essential to highlight that the Palestinian revolt is an anti-colonial struggle, for national liberation, which has At the forefront is a heroic and historic resistance that continues to inspire oppressed and exploited peoples around the world.

Meanwhile, the bombing of Gaza continues at full speed, under racist statements such as that of Israel’s Defense Minister, Yoav Galant, who openly said that he was dealing with animals, and that this is how the 2.4 million of them should be treated. Palestinians in Gaza.

There are already more than a thousand dead, of which 10% are children. The Palestinians, once again, do not know whether they will die from hunger or from bombs. It is urgent, at this moment, to understand what Malcolm X teaches: “The reaction of the oppressed cannot be confused with the violence of the oppressor.” The Palestinian cry today is “Enough is enough!”

For a secular, democratic and non-racist Palestine

The international labor movement must ruthlessly reject the actions of imperialism and servile governments in supporting Israel in the massacres against the Palestinians. We must hold large demonstrations in support of Palestine to show that thousands of people do not agree with the apartheid and genocide promoted by Israel.

Due to its very essence, Israel can only survive as a racist, repressive and genocidal state, based on permanent military aggression. Therefore, peace will only come with the destruction of the racist State of Israel and the establishment of a free and democratic society in Palestine, open to all Palestinians: Muslims, Christians and Jews.

This is the flag of secular, democratic and non-racist Palestine, which summarizes one of the main tasks of the socialist revolution in the region. Free Palestine from the river to the sea! Long live the heroic resistance of the Palestinian people!
