“Many IT companies believe in the success of the virtual space”

Kommersant FM columnist Alexander Levy talks about the kit, which consists of a “smart” speaker, a temperature simulator and VR glasses.

Such a phenomenon as the metaverse is curious or at least familiar to a rather specific audience. Now it is mostly men aged 18 to 44 years. But many large IT companies, not only Facebook, believe in the success of a special virtual space.

For example, at the annual CES consumer electronics show in Las Vegas, Japanese Panasonic presented three products at once for a burgeoning social environment. This coming spring, the vendor plans to start selling a kit consisting of a smart speaker, a temperature simulator and VR glasses.

All novelties will be produced under the Shiftall brand. According to the Japanese company, users are already living in the metaverse for an average of five and a half hours a day. With such a volume of online consumption, comfort is impossible without a high-quality picture and the low weight of the virtual reality device itself.

It was on these parameters that Panasonic engineers focused when creating the MeganeX headset. The ultra-light gadget received a pair of OLED micro-displays with a total resolution of 5.2K and a wide viewing angle. It’s like looking at a five-meter HDR image at a frame rate of 120 Hz from a distance of 3 m. In addition, the new Shiftall MeganeX supports SteamVR applications.

Much more interesting than glasses for virtual space Pebble Feel is a wearable compact thermoregulation system. It is fastened on the back between the shoulder blades. There, the device simulates temperature changes from cold to hot. Panasonic developers noted that the novelty can also be used in everyday life to cool down on a hot day or warm up in cold weather.

In everyday reality, the last gadget from the Shiftall kit will also come in handy. The Mutalk smart microphone was designed for the metaverse, but this compact Bluetooth device suppresses unwanted sounds that can penetrate from reality to the virtual world, and vice versa.

You can speak loudly in a virtual chat or in real spaces during conference calls without disturbing the people around you. The cost of the Shiftall kit is still unknown.
