Omicron is likely to increase further in Sri Lanka

A further 160 people in the country have been confirmed to be infected with Omicron, said Dr. Chandima Jeewandara, Director, Institute of Allergy, Resistance Research and Genetic Sciences, Sri Jayewardenepura University.

He added that the infections were identified through research conducted by the university’s laboratory.

As a result, the number of identified Omigron infections in Sri Lanka has risen to 208.

Dr. Chandima Jivandara said that this amount is likely to increase further in the coming days and asked the people to follow the health rules.
