Berlin is considered the capital of young start-up companies. But large tech companies are also showing their colors. At SAP, the old Berlin office was bursting at the seams. A new location was needed.
When looking for a location, the deciding factor was the opportunity to build a modern building there with a new office concept in which interdisciplinary work could be done on future topics such as artificial intelligence, blockchain or “business process intelligence,” said Müller. “The capital is a very central strategic location for us. We are therefore very pleased that we can continue to grow in Berlin and strengthen Germany as a digital location.”
SAP’s goal is to become the leading provider of artificial intelligence for business applications (“business AI”) by 2025. They also want to support companies in introducing AI into their companies. In Berlin, SAP has the best conditions to achieve this goal. When building the new office, it was also of central importance to meet the needs of all employees; no matter where they were working – in the office, at home or on the move.
Habeck said that innovation needs networks, and networks need biotopes. In Berlin these are spaces where people from different spheres interact. “This also includes the start-up scene and new companies that may one day be able to match the size of SAP, and top dogs like SAP.”
