The Israeli Army killed four armed men who were trying to enter the country from Lebanon, according to a military statement.
The soldiers “detected a terrorist squad trying to infiltrate through the security barrier with Lebanon and plant an explosive device,” the statement said.
“Four terrorists were killed,” the note added.
The Army reported during the morning that it bombed Hezbollah positions in Lebanese territory.
Since the beginning of the war provoked by Hamas’ unprecedented attack on Israel on October 7, clashes on the Israeli-Lebanese border have left at least 10 people dead on the Lebanese side, most of them fighters, as well as a journalist from the Reuters news agency and two other civilians.
On the Israeli side, at least two people died.
The Lebanese national news agency (NNA) reported that border areas suffered “continuous” shelling throughout the night.
Several houses in the town of Dhayra were hit, which caused casualties, according to the agency, which did not reveal the health condition of those affected.
“The enemy (Israel) used phosphorus bombs and attacked civilians,” the agency said.
The NGO Human Rights Watch last week accused Israel of using this type of bomb against Hamas members in Gaza and southern Lebanon.
The Israeli Army denies the accusations.
