GOMA – Following the Rwandan aggression which is the basis of insecurity in several corners of the province of North Kivu, the collective of citizen movements and pressure groups of North Kivu denounces what it describes as “ hypocrisy” and “inefficiency” of the EAC regional force since its advent in this part of the DRC. In a press briefing held this Tuesday, October 17 in Goma, this synergy announced to organize a peaceful march next Thursday, October 19 in the city of Goma to demand the “departure without delay from Congolese soil” of this force.
In front of the press, the synergy suggested that the EAC remains in a “difficulty” of forcing the M23 to respect the ceasefire and the pre-cantonment which “is the last resolution of the Heads of State in Bujumbura”.
According to this synergy, “the situation on the ground remains precarious and this is due to the refusal of the M23 rebels to comply with the recommendations of the Heads of State and therefore a voluntary violation of the ceasefire, which will lead to continuous attacks on the positions of the armed forces of the DRC under the helpless eye of the EAC contingents in different entities.”
Despite the fact that the Congolese army opted for a peaceful resolution for the restoration of lasting peace in the region, the M23 rebels and their auxiliaries launched attacks against the young Wazalendo patriots, who fortunately defended themselves and dislodged, little by little. small the enemy, says synergy.
The young activists grouped within this synergy also oppose the message of the United States ambassador to the DRC who believes that the best would be to resolve the situation peacefully rather than using weapons.
Meanwhile, the collective of victims of the M23 war plans to march peacefully this Wednesday, October 18 for the same reason. A march banned by Goma city hall through a press release.
