Kelly Clarkson Says Goodbye to “The Voice” After Move to New York

After Kelly Clarkson’s recent move to New York City, the future of her role as a coach on “The Voice” seemed uncertain. However, in a new interview with USA Today, the “American Idol” winner revealed that she has decided to say goodbye to the popular singing competition.

Clarkson, who moved to New York to be closer to her family, explained that she made the decision to leave “The Voice” because she was struggling and no longer felt like smiling. Reflecting on her time on the show, Clarkson expressed her love for the “Voice” family, but acknowledged that she had learned a lot about what she can handle and what she shouldn’t handle.

“The Voice” is currently airing its 24th season, featuring coaches Niall Horan, Gwen Stefani, John Legend, and Reba McEntire. Season 25, set to air in 2024, will see the return of McEntire and Legend to the coach chairs. Rapper Chance the Rapper will also be returning as a coach, and country duo Dan + Shay will join as the first coaching duo.

Clarkson has a long history with “The Voice,” starting as an advisor to Blake Shelton in Season 2 and returning as an advisor to all the coaches in Season 13. She became an official coach starting with Season 14 and continued through Season 21. After taking a break, Clarkson returned for Season 23, which aired earlier this year.

With her move to New York and her thriving daytime talk show, Clarkson certainly has no reason to come back to Los Angeles. While fans will miss her on “The Voice,” they can still catch her on her own show, where she continues to entertain and inspire audiences.
