Over 100 Tamils evacuated from Israel arrive in Tamil Nadu

According to the Immigration Tamil Welfare Department of the Tamil Nadu Government, a total of 147 people have arrived in Tamil Nadu from Israel. Among them, 121 individuals were brought at the expense of the Tamil Nadu government, while 26 Tamils ​​made their own arrangements.

The Tamil Nadu government released a press statement regarding the evacuation efforts. As the conflict between Israel and Palestine escalated, the Tamil Nadu government set up helpline numbers under the supervision of the Chief Minister to assist Tamils stranded in Israel. Through these helpline numbers, information about 158 Tamils ​​stranded there was obtained.

The District Tamil Welfare Department, operating under the Tamil Nadu government, reached out to the stranded Tamils ​​and assessed their needs. In coordination with the government, 98 Tamils ​​who had already arrived in New Delhi in four phases were safely transported to their homes.

Yesterday, on October 17, 23 more Tamils ​​who arrived in New Delhi from Israel as part of Operation Ajay were warmly welcomed by the Tamil Nadu government. The government took care of their flight arrangements. Furthermore, under the guidance of the Minority Welfare and Expatriate Welfare Minister Senji KS Mastan, four individuals reached the Coimbatore airport and were provided transportation to their hometowns at the government’s expense.

In addition, 17 people who arrived at the Chennai airport were greeted by Lok Sabha member Kalanidhi Veerasamy, District Tamil Welfare Commissioner Jacinda Lazarus, and other officials. They were then sent to their respective hometowns. Similarly, 2 individuals who arrived at the Madurai airport were welcomed by the district administration and safely transported to their native places, all funded by the government.

The press release informs that 121 people have arrived in Tamil Nadu from Israel at the expense of the Tamil Nadu government, while 26 individuals made their own arrangements.
