Singer Britney Spears will publish her autobiography, “The woman in me”, on October 24.

“I am finally free to tell my story.” The singer Britney Spears will publish, on October 24, his autobiographical book called The woman in me (The woman in me in good French). Billed as an “incredibly moving story of freedom, glory, motherhood, survival, faith and hope”, Britney Spears’ memoir looks back on many events in her life, two years after the end of the controversial conservatorship practiced by his father for many years.

In the pages of The woman in me, the “pop princess” reveals, among other things, having undergone a voluntary termination of pregnancy (IVG) when she was forming, with Justin Timberlake, one of the most publicized couples on the planet. “I loved Justin so much. I always thought we would start a family together one day. It just would have happened a lot sooner than expected,” says Britney Spears in her autobiography, including the American site People publishes some extracts.

It was pushed by the singer that she would have undergone an abortion, as she explains: “Justin was really not happy with the pregnancy. He said that we were not ready to have a baby in our life, that we were much too young.”

“Shaving my head and putting myself on stage were my only means of fighting back”

Among the other traumatic memories recounted in his autobiography, that of his decision to shave his head in 2007, which marked the beginning of his descent into hell. She talks about her discomfort at the time, partly caused by the media pressure on her shoulders. “Growing up, I was watched so much. I was looked at up and down, people told me what they thought of my body, ever since I was a teenager. (…) Shaving my head and staging were my only means of fighting back,” says Britney Spears.

After this episode, the singer was placed under the tutelage of her father, which will not end until 2021. “I was made to understand that this era was now over. I had to let my hair grow and get back in shape. I had to go to bed early and take all the medications I was told to take,” the popstar recalls in her book. During his thirteen years of guardianship, his life was managed by his father. “I had become a robot,” she explains, before adding: “I had been so infantilized that I was losing pieces of myself. Being placed under guardianship stripped me of my femininity and transformed into a child.” She concludes: “I didn’t deserve what my family did to me.”
