It said that she was entitled to a tax payment of an impressive 9,800 euros. With friendly words, the woman was then asked to follow the link provided and to provide her access details for Finanz-Online. Hardly believing her luck, she followed the instructions. A little later she received a call from what was supposed to be an employee of the tax office, who told her that she would now receive a TAC code so that the transfer could be made to her account. Using the woman’s data, the criminals briefly managed to debit 9,800 euros from her account and transfer it to the account of a Romanian woman living in Italy. But an attentive employee at the victim’s bank reacts quickly and is able to intercept the transfer just in time. The 52-year-old Romanian woman is then investigated by the Italian police and questioned about the case. But the accused does not confess. Despite being summoned, she did not appear at the hearing on Tuesday at the Feldkirch regional court. Therefore, the trial had to be postponed indefinitely.
