Riyadh and London’s appeal to their compatriots
Saudi Arabia’s embassy said it was closely following developments in southern Lebanon, calling on all citizens to “adhere to the travel ban and immediately leave Lebanese territory.” In recent days, several other countries have issued travel advisories for citizens wishing to visit Lebanon.
The United States on Tuesday warned American citizens not to travel to the country and the State Department authorized the departure of non-emergency government personnel due to the “unpredictable security situation” in the country.
The UK Foreign Office is also encouraging its citizens currently in Lebanon to leave the country now “while trade options remain available”.
