Netflix is ​​becoming more expensive: In three countries, the streaming service now costs up to 37 percent more; in Germany, the cheapest tariff without advertising is no longer available.

Who in the future? If you want to watch Netflix without commercial breaks, you will soon have to dig deeper into your pockets. Starting next week, the provider in this country will be canceling the ad-free basic subscription for new customers, which is currently available for 7.99 euros and is the cheapest way to book Netflix after the standard tariff with advertising.

Once the change is active, there will only be three tariffs in Germany: Standard with advertising for 4.99 euros, Standard for 12.99 euros and Premium for 17.99 euros. Translated: The price increase for advertising freedom is a whopping 62 percent.

Price increases in several countries – including France

France, the United Kingdom and the United States will see a hefty price increase as a result of the changes. In the USA, prices for the basic subscription will rise from $9.99 to $11.99 and the premium subscription will cost $22.99 instead of $19.99. Netflix does not adjust the standard tariff.

In neighboring France, the offer after the increase is as follows: The basic tariff increases from currently 7.99 to 10.99 euros and the premium subscription will be increased from 17.99 euros to 19.99 euros.
