Kochi: Opposition leader VD Satheesan has said that the entire cost of PT Thomas’ culture was borne by the Congress party. VD Satheesan told the media that if anything else has happened, it has been directed to be rectified and there is no controversy regarding the culture of PT.
The Opposition had alleged that corruption had taken place in the Thrikkakara Municipal Corporation in the name of PT Thomas’ public vision. The Congress governing council had spent Rs. The Opposition had also lodged a complaint with the Municipal Secretary seeking an inquiry into the amount spent on the public viewing day.
According to the Opposition, the corporation had swindled a huge amount of money for the public meeting held at Thrikkakara Community Hall. The corporation brought flowers worth Rs. No less than Rs.1,17,000 was given to the florist on the same day. Rs 35,000 was also spent on food. The Opposition wants an inquiry into the cost of more than Rs 4 lakh on carpets and mic sets at various costs. It is alleged that the money was spent without obtaining permission as a separate project.
