This Thursday, the competitions commission of the French Football Federation (FFF) was to examine the fate of the D1 Arkema match between PSG and Reims, interrupted on Saturday October 14 a few minutes after the start of the second period (0- 0) when fireworks exploded above the field. But no decision has been made today. The FFF received the report provided by the officials and must now question the two clubs at greater length and, above all, PSG, host of the match which took place at the Léo-Lagrange stadium in Poissy (Yvelines). The case is under investigation.

According to the first elements of the investigation, the fireworks were launched from outside the enclosure, by teenagers who would have been turned away at the entrance. A surreal scene which caused a slight panic. The women’s section of PSG chose Poissy as a fallback solution since the lawn of the usual Georges-Lefèvre stadium at Camp des Loges is currently affected by a fungus, preventing matches from taking place. Furthermore, the Jean-Bouin stadium and its synthetic turf are no longer approved for D1 Arkema.

The FFF competitions commission must decide on the fate of the match: replay in its entirety, replay the second period only, confirm the score (0-0) or, in the worst case, sanction PSG and inflict a defeat on the green carpet. Questioned on Tuesday on the subject, Parisian defender Élisa De Almeida explained “that she had difficulty realizing what was happening. » “But it was managed well by the authorities,” she believes. This does not come from the PSG supporters but from the people in the stadium. We let the Federation make the decision. Very honestly, we talked about it in the locker room (Editor’s note: a possible sanction). But we trust the Federation. »
