Girona City Council has opened the call for grants to Program 30 Plusaimed at people over 30 who are unemployed. The initiative, however, focuses on offering a job opportunity to those over 45 and those who are in long-term unemployment. In total, they are expected to be hired 43 people, thanks to the 30 Plus Program. Companies interested in participating in these grants must contact the Municipal Employment Service (SOM), which will be in charge of preselection of the people who apply for the various job offers, as a promoting entity. The initiative offers up to 1,260 euros per month for nine months for full-time contracts.

In the case of 20-hour contracts, the program offers the proportional part of this salary. In order to be eligible for the subsidy, the company must offer a minimum contract of six months in any contractual form, except replacement, interim or relief contracts, among other requirements. The contract subscription period is from October 2 to April 1, 2024 and companies have a period of 2 months, from the start date of the contract, to apply for the subsidy.

On the other hand, the people hired within this program will receive professional training with the aim of improving their qualification. The training, from 20 to 100 hours, will be linked to the workplace, taking into account the profile of the hired person and the needs or technical requirements of the workplace and the hiring company.

Since 2016, the Municipal Employment Service has managed these recruitment grants that allow companies to hire people from Girona and the region. Since the first edition, it has been possible to hire, within the framework of this program, a total of 238 people. 74% of these contracts have been for women.
