NEW YORK (Reuters) – London ICE cocoa futures were slightly lower, with the market consolidating just below the previous session’s recent peak.
COCOA
* March cocoa in London fell 2 pounds, or 0.1%, to 3,138 pounds per tonne, after setting a record of 3,154 pounds on Tuesday.
* Traders said the market may be poised to consolidate in the near term following the recent strong advance, although it remains underpinned by the prospect of a third consecutive global deficit in the 2023/24 (October/September) season.
* December New York cocoa rose $4, or 0.1%, to $3,639 a ton.
