Spiesen-Elversberg.

Eintracht Braunschweig has suffered its next setback in the 2nd Bundesliga and remains bottom of the table.

The Lower Saxony team deservedly lost 0:3 (0:2) at newly promoted SV Elversberg and failed to win in the seventh game in a row. The Elversbergers have now been unbeaten for six games and have scored 14 out of 18 possible points. Paul Stock (20th minute), Paul Wanner (43rd) and Joseph Boyamba (90th + 6) scored the goals for the Saarlanders.

The hosts were clearly superior in the first half, the Braunschweig team seemed nervous and made a lot of mistakes. Stock scored from a corner, and Wanner, on loan from FC Bayern Munich, shot into the left corner. In the second half, coach Jens Härtel tried to revive the guests’ offense with several changes. But little changed. The supposed goal by Johan Gomez was disallowed due to a foul on goalkeeper Nicolas Kristof (77th).

There was a short interruption in the twelfth minute because pyrotechnics flew onto the pitch from the visiting fan block. (dpa)
