Los Mochis, Sin.- This Friday 460 excellent students with minimum grades of 9 received scholarships from the Pro-Education Board of the Municipality of Ahome for a total amount of one and a half million pesos.

The exemplary benefited students are low-income students from primary schools, secondary schools, high schools and public universities and They received between 2,500 and 3,500 pesos to pay for their studies this semester.

The president of Board of Directors of the Pro-Education Board of the Municipality of Ahome, Jorge López Valencia, He highlighted that thanks to the contributions made by citizens when paying the urban property tax to the Municipal Treasury, the Ahome City Council delivers a percentage to the Board of Trustees for its different school support programs, such as those scholarships.

“The dispersion of resources that will be done on this occasion is one million 535 thousand pesos. The beneficiaries are 95 primary school students, 102 secondary school students, 36 high school students and 234 professional level students.

The scholarship delivery took place in the auditorium of La Oruga Centenario Park, attended by parents and relatives of the students who received the economic stimulus and who in turn contributed non-perishable food that is collected by the Pro-Education Board of the Municipality of Ahome to donate them to the Los Mochis Food Bank, which in turn supports vulnerable families.
