It is with great sadness that we learn of the arrest of 12 journalists this Monday, September 16, 2023 in Kaloum.
These journalists, members of the Union of Press Professionals of Guinea (SPPG), arrested and taken to the Kaloum central police station. They had gone out to demonstrate to demand the restoration of access to the site Guineematin.com, access illegally restricted.
Nothing can justify the arrest of these journalists because they posed no threat, and did not have any information that could confuse them with violent people.
At the last minute we learned that they were referred to the Kaloum first instance court.
Presse Solidaire condemns these arrests and demands their immediate and unconditional release.
