The Jada Pinkett Smith marriage controversy reached new heights as a skit on “Saturday Night Live” took a humorous yet revealing approach to the situation. During the show’s “Weekend Update” segment, Ego Nwodim portrayed Pinkett Smith and joined anchors Colin Jost and Michael Che to continue sharing family secrets.

Nwodim, as Pinkett Smith, jokingly expressed her exhaustion from appearing on the “Today” show 14 times in three days. When asked about the state of her marriage to Will Smith, she revealed that she objected at their wedding ceremony.

The skit continued with Pinkett Smith stating, “23 years later, Will and I are still a unit. And it’s because we have learned that the secret to a successful marriage is: Never go to bed happy.” Nwodim humorously added, “Other people describe it as ‘brunhealthy,'” highlighting the challenges they have faced.

This “SNL” skit comes shortly after Pinkett Smith’s candid interview with Hoda Kotb on the “Today” show, where she revealed that she and Will have been living separate lives for the last seven years. She explained that they were both exhausted with trying to meet each other’s expectations. However, they have been committed to working through their issues and have a deep love for each other.

Will Smith also broke his silence on the matter, stating that the revelations “kind of woke [him] up” and highlighting Pinkett Smith’s resilience and compassion. Pinkett Smith refrained from going public with their relationship status earlier because they were “not ready” and were still figuring out how to be in partnership.

Despite the challenges they have faced, Pinkett Smith assured that they will not be divorcing anytime soon and are committed to figuring out what their relationship will look like moving forward.
