This American weekend, a sprint weekend, started strong on Friday with lively qualifying. And the now three-time reigning world champion from Qatar, Max Verstappen, got his feet wet by exploring the Texan track a little too much. Only sixth fastest in Q3, the Dutchman should liven up the race.
As in Belgium, it was Charles Leclerc who took pole, his 21st in his career, confirming the good signals sent by Ferrari for weeks since Carlos Sainz was 4th. Another team which confirms its form: McLaren. Lando Norris accompanies Leclerc on the front row, after his second fastest time in qualifying. The Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton (3rd) and George Russell (5th) are in ambush.
