COVID-19 Infections Continue to Rise in October 2023

The COVID-19 pandemic has been a major challenge for countries around the world, and Thailand is no exception. The latest report from the COVID-19 Information Center reveals the number of people infected with COVID-19 in Thailand between 15-21 October 2023.

According to the report, a total of 191 people were admitted to hospitals during this week due to COVID-19. On average, 27 individuals were admitted each day, showcasing the severity of the situation. Additionally, three deaths were reported during this period, with an average of one death per day.

Since the beginning of the year, a cumulative total of 34,001 patients have been hospitalized due to COVID-19. The numbers are staggering, highlighting the long-lasting impact of the pandemic on Thailand’s healthcare system. The cumulative death toll stands at 816 since January 2023, emphasizing the need for continued efforts to combat the virus.

In a previous weekly report from 8-14 October 2023, there were 124 new hospitalizations, with an average of 18 admissions per day. Similarly, three deaths were recorded, averaging one death per day. The cumulative number of patients since the beginning of the year was 33,810, with 813 deaths.

Furthermore, the report mentions the presence of 45 pneumonia patients and 33 intubated patients, illustrating the severity of COVID-19 cases in Thailand.

The Department of Disease Control, under the Ministry of Public Health, has been closely monitoring the situation and providing weekly updates to keep the public informed. Their efforts and the tireless work of healthcare professionals have been instrumental in managing the crisis.
