Tapoa: the provincial Forces demand the return of administrative authorities within a week
Diapaga, October 21, 2023 (AIB) – The population of Diapaga came out massively on Saturday, to demand the return of the authorities who since the start of the crisis have relocated to Fada N’Gourma, causing administrative paralysis in the province of Tapoa .
Having left the Untaani high school to reach the central roundabout of the town of Diapaga, there were a thousand of them displaying signs on which one could read: “Tapoa orphaned by its authorities”, “We demand the immediate return of our Haut- commissioner, prefects, directors and department heads”.
It was on Wednesday October 18, 2023 that the decision was made to organize the march, following a meeting held in the conference room of Diapaga town hall.
According to the coordinator of the march, Pierre Kondia Yonli, it was after several failed attempts to approach the authorities that the Forces Vives decided to go to the march.
An ultimatum of one week was given to these authorities to join Diapaga, otherwise the population will no longer recognize them as their authorities.
The demonstrators denounce in particular the blocking of the delivery of administrative documents due to their absence.
An appeal was launched to the President of the Transition, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, for strong measures to be taken to ensure the return and protection of the authorities in Diapaga.
