A three-day journey through time and history is organized by the Folklore Museum of Giannos in Thesprotiko of Preveza, from Thursday 26 to Saturday 28 October, giving visitors the opportunity, in addition to a guided tour of the Museum’s rooms, where, among other things, exhibits from the epic are kept of the Greco-Italian war, to participate in two original actions, which will transport them to the spirit of the time.
First, to receive copies of collectible “Letter Cards” (postcards) of the war, which they will be able to send free of charge to the address of any person they wish, inside and outside Greece. The postal “Deltarias of 1940” were reprinted in a limited number of the originals kept in the War Museum of Athens and are the “living” history of those heroic moments.
Secondly, to watch a theatrical performance by the amateur theater group “Theatrou Porea”, which will present “letters from the front 1940-41”, as well as soldiers’ monologues, in an attempt to convey the moving moments of the events, the self-sacrifice of defenders of the homeland, but also of the harsh daily life of war. The performance will close with the performance of dances, tangos and waltzes.
Opening hours: Thursday 26 October 09:30 – 13:00 & 17:00 – 19:00, Friday 27 October, 09:30 – 13:00 and Saturday 28 October 11:00 – 13:00. The theater performance will take place at 6.30 pm on Friday.
