Uber is taking off. While waiting for the flying taxis promised by the VTC application for several years now, the American multinational is launching “Uber Balloon” and offering its customers the chance to take off in a hot air balloon starting this Monday.
This new functionality offered by the platform remains limited, however, since it does not allow you to go to work or return from the evening in a hot air balloon, but simply to take a tourist stroll in Cappadocia, a Turkish region renowned for its magnificent landscapes. This new functionality of the application therefore allows you to book one of Turkey’s biggest tourist attractions, just like a simple VTC ride.
In a press release, Uber says “the balloon flights will depart at sunrise from Goreme, Cappadocia, and take passengers on an incredible 1.5-hour flight through Goreme National Park,” a World Heritage Site. Uber Balloon is available for a period of four weeks, from October 23 to November 19, for the sum of 150 euros, cheaper on average than the prices offered by local companies which range between 150 and 300 euros.
