10 First Ladies from Africa and Asia come together for the 10th edition of the Merck Conference
Mumbai (India), October 18, 2023 – In accordance with Burundi’s foreign and health policies, including its cooperation with GUAN [1]. In a warm atmosphere, Her Excellency Ndayubaha Angéline, First Lady of Burundi, took part in the inaugural session of the 10th edition of the Africa-Asia Conference of the Merck Foundation. This event brought together 10 First Ladies, as well as high-level delegations from Africa and Asia, alongside doctors and media professionals, recipients of training grants from the Merck Foundation.
The CEO of the Merck Foundation expressed his gratitude, specifying that his organization has already awarded more than 1,700 scholarships to young doctors from 50 countries, covering areas such as diabetology, oncology, embryology, among others. This foundation is affiliated with the American multinational pharmaceutical company Merck & Co. Inc., also known as Merck Sharp and Dohme (MSD), founded in 1891 in New York, United States, and one of the five largest multinational corporations global pharmaceutical companies.
